What to Do in LA — 23 Places to Love in Los Angeles
When I was a kid, my mom always sent me somewhere in the summer to get me out of her hair. I’m sure it was to avoid the dreaded “I’m bored” refrain that I would bombard her with. The summer after seventh grade my aunt, who lived in Los Angeles, welcomed me to stay with her for two weeks in sunny southern California. Let’s just say, my mom was quick to pack me up and ship me off.
As a kid, I fell in love with the city in those few days and never lost that loving feeling. Some people don’t like Los Angeles because they say people there are too fake. Others come expecting the glamorous life and are disappointed to find that LA is not all Hollywood-ified.
But me, I love it. As an adult, I lived there for six years and go back every chance that I get. So for all those who love LA (or want to learn to love it) here’s 23 places to make you feel even more amorous about the city.
1. The Broad (pronounced like “bro’d”)
I’m no art snob. Honestly, I rarely feel like I’m sophisticated enough to appreciate modern art. But, I love the playfulness of this museum. The collections are colorful, interactive and just plain fun.
